Online Event – Screen-Time Reset: Expert Guidance for a Healthier ‘Media Diet’ for Kids

Two Children wearing headphones on a couch watching a computer

June 7, 2022 @ 1:00 pm 2:00 pm UTC+6

A free virtual ParentEd Talk by Dr. Dimitri Christakis of Seattle Children’s Hospital, brought to you by Parent Map

Event Description:

Do you shudder to think about how much screen time your kids consumed over the past few years — and how their education suffered during the pandemic? You’re not alone. Thankfully, now there is a way forward.

In this essential ParentMap Live talk, Dr. Dimitri Christakis, director of Seattle Children’s Research Institute’s Center for Child Health, Behavior and Development, will present a blueprint for how parents and educators can close education gaps and rebalance screen time.

The strategy draws from Christakis’ landmark research on the impact of a “media diet” on children’s social, cognitive and emotional development through a post-pandemic opportunity lens. Parents will be able to understand and quantify what the long-term effects on children may be. Find hope in our children’s future — share this event with friends and together we can get them back on track!

If you can’t attend the live event, you can still participate! After the event concludes, all registered attendees will be emailed a link to watch the recorded session at their convenience. By joining in the live event, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the interactive Q&A portion.
